FINED $2,250 FOR NOT SUBMITTING AGGREGATE REPORTS

A Clarington aggregate pit owner has been fined $2,250 for not providing company reports required under the Aggregate Resources Act.

Harvey Ambrose pleaded guilty to failing to submit annual Compliance Assessment Reports for the company for 2007 and 2008 as well as the 2007 production report.

The Ministry of Natural Resources reviews these reports to ensure the licensee is operating in compliance with the Aggregate Resources Act. The Ontario Aggregate Resources Corporation uses information from the annual production reports to calculate the annual licence fees.

The case was heard by Justice of the Peace Duncan Read in the Ontario Court of Justice, Whitby, on May 14, 2009.
