JOINT ROAD CHECK FINDS MOST ANGLERS OBEYING RULES

The Ministry of Natural Resources laid two charges and issued seven warnings while conducting an enforcement road check on Highway 516, near Sioux Lookout, on May 18, Victoria Day.

Conservation officers from Sioux Lookout District checked 99 individuals for compliance with the Fish and Wildlife Conservation Act and the Ontario Fisheries Regulations.

Charges and warnings were issued for:

• Fishing without a licence
• Transporting improperly packaged fish which were not readily identifiable or measurable.
  

Warnings were also issued under the Forest Fires Prevention Act and Public Lands Act.

The joint road check station was conducted with Sioux Lookout District Ontario Provincial Police.
