COMMERCIAL FISHING VIOLATIONS RESULT IN FINE
April 17, 2009
Two Lake Ontario commercial fishers plead guilty and were fined $1500 each plus
court costs for commercial fishing violations.
An investigation by Ministry of Natural Resources Lake Ontario conservation officers found that commercial fishers Bryan and Linda McCormack had gone over their allowable quota on three species of fish during the 2008 fishing season. The McCormack's also failed to report the over quota to a conservation officer.
Justice of the Peace Ernest Parsons heard the case in the Ontario Court of Justice in Picton, April 17, 2009.
